Take advantage of your federal government to improve the lives of the citizens. Tax cuts are the best way to improve the economy and create jobs, but even with lower taxes your government needs to have spending priorities. In other words, improving your life should be a top priority for government.
Do not always just emphasize the opportunity to become a millionaire. Sure, many individuals become millionaires with the government’s help, but let us not forget that government exists to serve. If it were not for the state, every person would have none.
Do not always focus just on business opportunity for the few. There are many ways that the government can improve the lives of citizens, but it is important to focus on long-term goals like providing a living wage or reducing the wage gap.
Do not always stress equality in government only. There are numerous programs that are available to low-income or minority citizens, and many that work to benefit children. Without these programs the over-representation of low-income children in prison would be much higher.
Do not always have a good relationship with the federal government. While some may claim that lack of a good relationship with the federal government is the most crippling and most difficult social issue facing the United States, I would say it is that lack of trust that is more debilitating and difficult. That is because government is accountable to you.
As a taxpayer who has never looked at my budget and feels that it is wrong to place so much emphasis on just the few large and powerful companies, I would like to ask the question, “What does your government understand about the conditions of ordinary people?”
What is our government doing about the decrease in manufacturing jobs, taxes for the middle class, inflated prescription drug prices, harmful gun policies, environmental destruction and worsening healthcare system?
We need to advocate for our vision of the fiscal federalism that will better care for ordinary people, and this is the center of my advocacy.
