2018 History Photographer of the Year Awards

The competition for the 2018 History Photographer of the Year is now closed. Entries for the World Photography Organisation annual photography competition 2017/18 will be accepted until 31 December 2019.

Ten finalists have been announced for the 2017/18 Competition, and they include a photographer working in secret. Other photos are poignant and poignant for different reasons. Above all, the aim is to create something distinctive that shows a particular feature of a past era that might otherwise have gone unnoticed.

Regional finalists will be held in Dublin on Saturday, 6 September, with the overall winner to be announced on Tuesday, 21 September.

Another winner was announced on Monday for the inaugural category dedicated to covering news — Historical News Series of the Year. “Russian Pushkin’s Trial of 1815” by Alexandra Markova brings together 100 photographs of military court proceedings and a parade, from 1815.
